Setup a POP3 / IMAP email account in Windows Entourage
Open Open Microsoft Entourage. “Tools” > “Accounts”.
Click on the “Mail” tab then click “New” tab.
Click and hold on the “New” button, moving your pointer over the “Mail…” label and release the mouse button.
The Account Setup Assistant window appears, begin filling out Your name: the name you want to appear on all your emails you send to people.
Click the “Configure Account Manually” button at the lower left corner of the window.
Click the Account type drop-down menu and choose one of the following:
- POP3 – POP3 will download the emails from the server and store them on your computer.
- IMAP – IMAP will store the emails on the server and show a cached copy on your computer.
In the Edit Account window, fill in the following information:
- Account name: Your name
- Personal information
Name : Type your name. This is the name of the sender in email messages that you send from this account.
E-mail address : Full email address
- Receiving mail
Account ID : Full email address
POP/IMAP server : Enter the secure server name: mail.yourdomain.com
Password : Email account password
- Sending mail
SMTP Server : mail.mydomain.com
Click “Click here for advanced Receiving options” to set advanced receiving options.
Leave the “Always use secure password” box unchecked then click the “Close” button.
Click “Click here for advanced Sending options” to set advanced Sending options.
Check the “Override default SMTP port box”.
Check the “SMTP server requires authentication” box.
Click the “Use same settings as receiving mail server radio” button.
Note :Non-SSL Settings Secure SSL / TLS Settings Incoming Server: mail.yourdomain.com - IMAP Port : 143
- POP3 Port : 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- SMTP Port : 2525
Incoming Server: mail.yourdomain.com - IMAP Port : 993
- POP3 Port : 995
Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- SMTP Port : 465
Remark : If you use Secure SSL / TLS Settings, check the “This POP/IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL)” box
in both advanced receiving and sending options.
Back in the Edit Account window, click the “OK” button.
